Literaturkreis

The Literaturkreis meets in the "Hubertusklause" (Upper Bar)

Our main goal and purpose is to create a cheerful, harmonious gathering, characterized by enthusiasm and love for the diversity and beauty of poetry and prose in the German language.

The duration is about 2 hours with a joyful coffee social afterward. Everyone interested is warmly welcome.

The topic for our October meeting is Erich Kästner (1899 –1974), a German writer, poet, screenwriter and satirist born in Dresden, known primarily for his humorous, socially astute poems and for children's books including Emil and the Detectives and Lisa and Lottie. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in six separate years.

Please come prepared to share a favorite poem or article about the life and times of Erich Kästner.

A friendly reminder that our Literaturkreis meetings are conducted in German. The meeting will conclude with a coffee social where we can continue our discussions in a relaxed setting
